The design and development of Joule is done in South Africa. Optimal Energy is finalising its supplier list to maximise customer benefits such as cost, as well as environmental efficiencies. Optimal Energy anticipates that at least 50% of a Joule will be locally produced.
What voltage does Joule use and how dangerous is that?
Joule’s drive system uses 400 volts. Joule’s design incorporates all the standard automotive and electrical safety standards. For example, the higher voltage cables are routed below the floor making it inherently safe.
